In the market for a daily driver car, got a few questions...

I'm looking at a few new 04 M3 coupes, all in the 55k range after options MSRP.

What kind of discounts are dealers doing in this current market situation, with the impending 3 series overhaul, and generally bad market conditions.

what kind of negotiation direction is the market for new 04 M3s going?

do we start from invoice and work up/down?

or do we start from MSRP and work down?

some wishful thinking on my part, but everyone likes to save money where it can be saved

Thanks!

First off BMW has inelastic demand.... their cars sell well regardless of the market condition. There are also no incentives on the M3 which is a special edition 3 series. The M3 is not a daily driver and doesn't belong in the NYC northeast winter. The only cars the dealer might have issues with moving is the 325i and 330i so they have incentives on them, never an M3. But I would suggest bargaining from invoice up. I heard from someone on here BMW of Oyster Bay had some in stock and offered a good deal on them.

Goodluck whatever you decide the M3 is a great car, just don't get it from BMW Manhattan they're crooks and you'll be sorry once you get aquainted with their service department. They really messed up my 325i, and I'm sorry I got it from them or ever dealt with them for that matter.

It depends on the dealer, but like Bmw 325i 7803 stated the M3 holds it's value very well regardless of the market. Try calling around to various dealers around your area and see what the current market it. Starting from invoice and move up would be ideal.
