From pics I've seen and comparing a base M3 with one that has the ZCP package live side by side at a dealership, I've noticed a 1" height difference. Does anyone have a real answer to this, because I'm getting different ones from the dealers?

I have a feeling it's due to the bigger rotors and an increase in the direct turning ratio, but I'm still not sure. I test drove the ZCP and it still rides like a dream, but does anyone have a true answer? Thanks. [8]

Disclaimer: This is what I've heard/read...

I've read that it is due to the increased spring rate in the ZCP suspension.

Now, I wonder if there is a difference in actual height or if it's our eyes playing tricks on us...

zcp: competiton package, also known as CS package, (club sport?) in europe, or at least in Britain.

it is the closest thing to a CSL we can get in the states. you can think of it as a performance package for the m3.

besides the fact that you get the 19 inch bbs rims, with track spec tires, bigger brakes, basically all the parts to get the most out of your m3 at the tracks. if that's not enough, currently zcp package is the only way to get the interlago blue... well you can always drop 2500 for any car to get the special color too..

I don't think the suspension is any different on the Competition Package. BMW mentions nothing of it on their website and if they did, they would say, "recallibrated suspension" or something along those lines. In terms of handling, you just get the 19" BBS light-weight wheels. The car should not be sitting any different in height, unless you are comparing a stock M3 with 18" wheels to an M3 ZCP with the 19" wheels.

The M3 ZCP is really amazing, I just wish BMW didn't offer it so late in the game.
