Guys I will be needing new tires soon.
I am wondering if i should get new rims as well and upgrade to 19" rims and tires from the origonal factory 18's. (2001 e46 M3 Manual)

Any thoughts/Suggestions!
Will there be a big performance difference ?

I will tell you that I have read and been told by several people (to include BMW Mech's) that the 19's ruin the performance and handling of the M3. The car and suspension was supposedly designed for the 18's the car comes with. I have no personal experience to base this off of, this is just what I have been told and read. Good luck

hmmm...I've read alot of magazines that state the 19's handles and performs much better than the 18's. The drawback is wheel/tire cost and a rough ride. I've owned two pairs of 19's wheels and I think it handles much better than my stock 18's. BTW Welcome aboard [welcome]

hehe, don't worry buddy. It's all personal opinion and preference. I'm sure there are many out there that argue that the 18's handles better.

I vote 19's. I have the OEM 19's and love them.
I wonder if a group purchase might be in order??? I don't need rims but a group discount deal on tires would be nice. [drinking]

Kool, thanks for the input.
Any thoughts on a good brand of 19" rim/tires.
Also I noticed that most 19" rims have a wider wheel base for front and rear.
Will that cause any problems, turning etc.
Currently Front 225 Rear 255

A real good place is tirerack.com
You can put in the specs of your car and it will give you matching wheel/tire sets. [thumb]
