My grandpa has a 1980 BMW 320i. He used to drive it around all the time, but one morning he goes to start it up and it wont start for nothin. He tinkered with it for some time now and so far he's replaced the rotor, distributor cap, plug wires, and fuel filter. The fuel sending unit in the tank works fine. IT JUST WONT START!
ANY SUGGESTIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!

Can you smell fuel while cranking?
Has this old girl got a carby? if you can't smell fuel its possible that the needle might be blocked stopping fuel getting into the bowl?
More info about the old fossil, (the car not your gradpa!)

Ps. I work on signature cummins motors a lot, and although they sound great, they go like shit!! [:p]

There is also an electric fuel pump behing the right rear tire. You need to make sure you have fuel pressure at the fuel distributor. As far as the grounding wire goes, just attach a jumper cable from the car frame to a point on the block to test for propper ground. If it starts with the jumper then it's probably the ground strap.
