1990 325i specs?

What size of motor does this car have? What's the horsepower rating. How much horsepower will my auto tranny hold? What kind of small mods can I do to get a few more horses?

chip, exhaust, custom cold air intake etc.

how much total hp can an auto tranny hold? 5, any more than that and they drive like shet. just kidding, you probably don't have to worry about it unless you are doing something big. But you asked about getting a few so...

My '89 325i auto ran fine with a Conforti chip installed which added 16 hp at 5K rpm. The peak hp is probably closer to 180 at 5900 rpm. The tranny had 126K miles on it and ran great until the car got totaled last month. Just change the fluid and filter every 30K to make it last.
