Yesterday, 3 lights came on after a few blocks, the traction light, the abs light and the word "brake" all in yellow, not the brake light for new pads, i looked in the book and it said to check the brake fluid level and check for leaks, my brakes still work fine, just when i start out and the lights are not on yet if i hit the brakes they make noises like when your abs is working although the road cond. does not warrant it, then when the lights are on everything works normal and no noises.
any thoughts

Most probably there is a fault in the ASC computer or its sensors/wiring. This explains the traction light. The ABS shares sensors and hydraulics with the ASC, hence the ABS light. A malfunctioning ASC/ABS system causes imbalances in the hydraulic pressure of the whole brake circuit, which make the yellow brake light to come on.

The noises you hear are the unsuccessful attempts of the system to calibrate. Failing, it will eventually trigger the warning lights.

Normal braking power is still available but you may lack stability and/or anti-lock assistance. As the user's manual suggests, carefull driving (under some circustances the car might pull strong to either direction or even spin around its vertical axis) and an unscheduled visit to the dealer are both required.

Hope this helps.
