Hi, I test drove a 2002 Z3 with manual trans that has 39000 miles on it. It has the sport & premium packages, HK stereo, and on board computer system. The color is pastacio green and the negotiated price ended up at $21,995. I'm not to crazy about the color, but the dealer said the price was low because of the color, and they were having a hard time selling it. Other cars in different colors in my area are priced much higher. It is a certified car, and the original warranty is good until 2006 and the certified warranty expires in 2008. I do have a couple of questions for someone that has experience with Z3's.
1) Do you think this is a reasonable price? (I only drive about 3,000 miles a year, so I won't go over the 100,000 miles)
2) I couldn't find a spare tire, and it doesn't have the run flat tires. Does anyone know where the spare tire might be, if there is one?
3) How difficult is it to replace the plastic rear window? This one has quite a few scratches on it, but it isn't as bad as the other Z3 that I test drove. That one, I couldn't even see out of it, and the dealer wasn't willing to replace it. The other Z3 was also pistacio green, a 2001 with 29000 miles on it. It doesn't have the sport package or HK stereo. That one's warranty expires in 2006, as the in service date was 2000. They want 18,500 for that one.
Thanks for any help and insight that you can give this hopefully new Z3 owner.

Welcome to BMWBoard.com! The price sounds right, however I would push for the dealer to replace the rear window, it would not cost him that much. I have never replaced a rear window, but I hear it is not too hard. It should have a spare under the car at the backend.

Thanks for the info. I looked under the car, but I didn't see where a spare would go, or how to access it. I'll have to check it again.
