Yeah, I've seen this....very nice comparison. I am surprised that the S4 out-did the M3 on the track, even though the S4 is a newer car. Either way, this is a very entertaining video. [:)]

That's cool to watch. Love the part where the BMW is sliding all the way around in a cloud of smoke....made me giggle.

IMO the M3 is a much better looking car. No comparison. And the performance speaks for itself.....wow.

And even if the newer S4 is faster than the M3 on the track, in another test from a big European car magazine, Audi's RS6 (450 hp twinturbo V8) lost in both a track and an acceleration test against the older M5. Wonder what happens if the new V10 rolls out the factory in Munchen....But don't get me wrong, I like Audi's too but they shouldn't play the silly "My car has one hp more than yours game." That makes me like to see the Bimmers win.

I dont know....

Quarter Miles:

M5 Quarter Mile: 13.3 sec @ 108 mph

RS6 Quarter Mile: 12.8 sec @ 108 mph

Same speed, but the RS6 is quicker, acceleration probably continues increasing at higher speeds. The new M5 should be interesting though.

i would have to disagree with the maker of that video. all the guy said was avoid the SMG. and btw i agree with him. i dont wanna here anyones it shifts in .08s bullsh*t ok.

why do u buy performance cars, bc they are god damn fun to drive, therfore being slightly quicker is no justification for not having a regular manual with the pleasure of control in teh clutch.

so neways, NICE VIDEO. but remember those thigs depend on the driver, an AWD is easier to control and if the driver isnt liike super pro . . .

and id still go with the M3, what do u guys think? not a bmw bias jsut bc i think its more a fun car to drive, u can really go crazy with it.

neways thanx for posting the video.

I think Audi should have done more to differentiate the styling of the S4 from the A4 like BMW did with the M3 and 330. I think the styling of the S4 is fine except for the huge shark fin on the roof. As to which car is better is like asking if a blonde is better looking than a brunet.

I owned an '02 M3 which I sold a couple of months ago and my wife owns an '04 S4. After driving both cars extensively I would lean to the M3 if I tracked my car and lean to the S4 if I were going to use it primarily as a commuter. Quattro provides a level of security in wet road and snowy conditions. We have winter radials mounted on the S4 and I think with the weight, winter radials, and quattro, my wife doesn't have to worry about winter weather.

Bottom line is that they are both fine cars, and as to which is better depends upon your driving needs.
