[drinking] Does anyone have thoughts or insitet into what I need included if I am considering an extrended warranty for my '05 545i? I am under impression coverage for valves and seals is a must but not sure what else I should be looking for? 3rd party options I should consider versus going thru BMW direct? Thanks in advance! I had Warranty-by-Net for a while and I wasn't too happy. Even though I had the most complete coverage with little or no co-pay I had 2 major problems. 1) the warranty company required that my dealer call them for authorization before repairs were made. Often they were slow to answer or call back, and they argued with the dealer about what would be covered. The dealer got tired of this real quick. 2) they were very picker about what they would cover, so when my water pump when back they paid for the pump but not to replace the coolant and a couple of other things. Also, they would not cover the full cost of the dealer's hourly labor rate. At least with a BMW warranty you might involve the long painful phone calls.

I have a 2003 530 i with 48,000 miles. I researched quite a few extended warranties recently. I went with Continental Warranty Co. after talking with my dealer I was told they never had a problem with them unlike some other companies. I purchased their best plan which covers me for an additional 6 years or until my odo. reaches 100,000 miles. It is practically a bumper to bumper plan with 24 hr. roadside assist. I paid $ 2598.00. They also offer an interest free payment plan.

I hope this will be of some help.
