Hi there, I have some questions which I am sure to some may seem dumb, but I have to know! I plan to get a 2005 M3, by order, or when they come out and am leaning towards the Phoenix Yellow. Am I insane by doing so? All the dealers say they never sell that color and such, I think it looks pretty different, however also wonder if I will regret it after the fact. Also, some dealers said they would charge me a larger downpayment to order due to that color and hard to sell.

Anyways, my question, does the M3 come in any form of Auto for my wife who cant drive sticks?

I am thinking to stick witht he stock 18's, since the 19's are prolly too heavy and I could get cheaper and lighter if I wanted tio later, sound good?

anyone know of where I can see the new Gray? I was tld they got rid of Steel ray which was my second choice, also, any pictures of the 2005 stock wheels?

That is about all,
P.S...I haven't heard of much of a change other then Steel Gray being gone and Alum Trim inside standard(heard there is a new trim, no one has ap ic or can describe it to me though, any ideas?), anything else I need to be aware of for 2005, my dealers around did not seem to know. I heard something about a sport package, however it gets rid of the controls on your steering wheel?

If you want to stand out when you drive your M3 (particularly when speeding) then phoenix yellow is your colour.

M3 with automatic gearbox, you should consider Mercedes C55 AMG. If you want car with such luxury as automatic gearbox, then you dont want The M3.
You can get M3 with SMG gearbox (SMG has Automatic clutch)

If the new grey is kind of a flat dove grey, then my dealer has one and it's great looking with an almost matching grey interior. Make sure you and your wife (if she'll drive it regularly) drive one wihtan SMG trans, as it's not anywhere as smooth as an auto. You could also consider an Audi S4.

Go for the Phoenix Yellow. Its a ballsy enough car that you'll get respect for it no matter what. It like 'hey look at that diarreah colored car, what a joke! Oh damnnn, its an '05 BMW M3, that thing is so nice! I actually kind of like that color!'

Lol, well-said.

The problem with the Pheonix Yellow for the M3 is that it's not such a great yellow. It's more of a bronze-yellow that is very different to the typical yellow you're used to, but I think it looks good. I think BMW chose to use this specific yellow color because it doesn't make the car look like a toy.
I think you should get the M3 with stick shift....I'm biased against the SMG transmission, though but I don't think SMG is worth it. You pay $2,400 and it just makes things so much more complicated and it doesn't even shift smoothly. You can easily do smoother shifting with a full manual.

You can shift smooth if you learn how to use it. It takes a bit if learning, but you can shift as smooth as a manual.

I am a day away from order, I think I am going yellow! I am scared!! U wanted red all along, but I dont want a flat red, and that is all they have. I liked the steel gray, but they cut that out. So Phoenix Yellow it is!

As for SMG, I have to get that. My understanding is there is an option with it for fully automatic, correct? Where my wife does not have to shift at all and can just drive away like she does in her auto?

I wish there were more sites with phoenix yellow cabs to check out

I was at the German dealer yesterday and they had a Pheonix Yellow waiting to be delivered on the floor...I would have in 1/2 second traded my 530i for that M3. That is the absolute best color for that car. SMG........... I would think about it. When I have reps at the GERMAN dealership telling me that SMG in that car is worthless.....I personally would listen. Any one in the market for a 2004 530i?????? ANYONE? ANYONE? I want the M3. I should have listen to my heart and not my head and bought the M3 instead......STUPID,STUPID, STUPID!!!!!!!

C55 AMG: 0-60 in 4.9secs.
CLK55 AMG: 0-60 in 5.7secs.

I see your point. The C55 is a sweet car. Too bad the two door doesn't have the same performance as the 4. The Audi S4 also has 340hp and a 6 speed Auto.

I'd go for the Phoenix Yellow with SMG so long as your wife isn't going to drive it too much.
