What should I be looking for, listening for, feeling for, when inspecting a 1989 325IX with about 190,000kms 5 speed? What are known problems with the 4wheel drive E30's so that I know to check if they have been serviced lately (or ever). I'm mostly worried about driveline seals and gears for the transfer case. How much feedback should I have in the front wheels from the 4wheel drive (torque steer)? Will I mistake the sound of worn wheel bearings for the sound of the front wheels being driven? Throw stuff at me starting with: "Look for..." I'm checking this beast out tomorrow, and I've never driven an IX before... I just need some pointers.
Much appreciated,
Scott
