Okay guys here is my problem.
I have a 1997 M3 sedan. Mods to the car are M50 manifold conversion, AA tuning track pipe, B&B Tri-flow exhaust, CAI, AA tuning software, lightweight flywheel, Sachs power clutch, and UUC Motorwerks short throw shifter.
After the installation of the intake manifold, I developed a starting problem. After it sits for about 5 hours plus. It will not start on the first try. After it starts it runs great, idle is smooth, it runs like new. I thought is was a fuel pressure problem. I put the fuel pressure gauge on it. The pressure will fall to 5 psi, then when I turn the key to ignition two and the fuel pump runs. The pressure climbs to 45 psi. I have replaced the fuel pump, regulator, and the 3/2 way check valve. I just can not figure out why the car will not start on the first try anymore? It's like the car is not getting any fuel on start up. It turns over fine. My friend, who is a BMW Tech, we pulled the fuel injectors and put them on a special tool design for testing BMW fuel injectors. The injectors pasted the test they were not leaking. So I figured that if it was a pressure leak I would at least smell or see fuel. If it was a vacum leak I would have a check engine light. I was thinking that it may be the crankshaft postion sensor. I do not want to spend anymore money until I can figure out what the problem is. Any adice would be great. [???1]
