528i electrical problem

the car is a 98 528i, with 58,000 miles. the interior lights, radio, and horn act up when you flip down the sun visors and slide the panel aside over the mirror. the radio will go off, no sound, blank screen. it will come back on after a few minutes. also at the same time the horn will not blow. this evening, after starting the car, there was no radio or wipers. so i fliped down the visor, and the radio came on and the wipers would work.

First try checking the ignition switch.

my 1997 528i does exactly the same thing, usually if i turn the key off then back on it fixes the problem. I agree... I think the ignition switch is to blame. I've had the problem for two years and it hasn't gotten worse than a minor annoyance
