Hi Guys

Anyone who could define what are Nikasil & Alusil block of engines in the subject car. I just wanted to have some information reagrding what kind of engine i do have in my car.

Nikasil and Alusil is what the lining of the cylinder walls is named. Both are electronically applied (ie galvanized). Nikasil is short for nickel silicon-carbide, and is negatively effected by gasses with high sulfur content - so it is mainly an issue in the United States. Alusil is an Aluminum and silicone plating, and is NOT effected by the higher sulfur content. Alusil replaced nikasil in engine platings.
