Presently have a 2003 540i6, and no longer need the room. Thinking of going back to an M3. Stupid question, but will I miss the room, or the V8, going back to a 3 series? I miss the agility of a 3! Bob
You certainly won't miss the 4.4 V8 if substituted with the S54 in the e46M.

I hop out of the e46 after work, then cart the kids in the e39 to events. TOTALLY different machines.

the 540 would be my pick for a 4-door, and I picked my M3 as my 2-door choice, my opinion remains the same. The M3 will not be quite as soft of a ride as the 540 but still very civil.
