*I have a problem with my '86 528e that seems to be getting worse now. Cold starts are perfect and I can drive just about any distance (with some slight acceleration hesitation around 55-65 mph). BUT when I stop and turn off the engine it will not restart until the car is completely cooled down (I waited 3 hours the other day until it would start again). Attempts to start result in very rough loping/missing with black exhaust.

Any help/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. I plan to check out fuel pump regulator, relay and all other electrical connections/relays this weekend.

There's two temp switches on the side of the radiator one is a kill switch usually the bottem one. Good luk (Just how hot does it get?)
Engine temp is well within normal range. Are you saying one of the radiator sensor switches (if defective) could affect starting when the engine is warmed up?
