the warning light came on at 903xx, so i figured it was time to go buy some parts. i got raybestos quiet stop ceramic pads and all four rotors at the local pep boys. rotors turned out to be brembo. i did the fronts yesterday and it was time! there was maybe 1mm left on all four front pads. i started on the rears today but it started pouring rain as i got the first side apart. the rears weren't as worn as the fronts and not as evenly either, the piston side pad had a lot more left than the outer. that's as far as i got before i had to bail.

When the pads are that worn doesn't the braking power decrease or the pedal feel mushy??? The 325i had 8.5k and the pedal would hit the floor if I had to brake semi-hard from 40-50mph. Not to mention it would skid as if the ABS didn't work in the end it started skidding at around 8k (two times had to slam on the brakes in 500 miles) Maybe it had a brake problem...

Pad wear is all dependent on 1) the style of driving you put your car through. A set of pads can last 90k with light driving, or only a few hours at the track, and 2) The material the pads are made of. The $20 pads at auto zone won't last nearly as long as say some ceramic pads.

BMW 325i 7803: You might have some air in your brake system. I would have that checked out.

Oh when I wanted to bring it in the SA said nothing was wrong... so I decided to forget it since they wouldn't give me a loaner.

I don't have that car anymore though ([clap]), I was just wondering if there was any way to tell besides the sensor and noises if the brake pads are worn and if those were signs...
