Where do I start? When I purchased my 97 528 about eight months ago it rode very rough with a lot of shimmy and shake especially at higher rates of speed on the interstate. Knowing it needed tires I replaced them, had it aligned, and balanced. I was not better. I had the rack and pinion replaced because leaks, had both tie rods replaced, and realigned. They found a bent rim and replaced it with the spare rim (this helped minimally). And the balancing was even tweaked again.
I have had everything on the car inspected to find the problem with no definitive answers.
The car has 126,000 miles, still running strong, with a terrible vibration.

Thanks,

Travis

Ball joints, drive shaft? I had a 750iL that the drive shaft it self somehow got bend and over time the vibration got worse, you could really feel it under hard acceleration. Also check your brake rotors.

Big Daddy,

I went to the shop today and they are saying the drive shaft. I take it next week for a closer inspection. I'll post back later. Thanks.
