Hi all,
Today I test-drove a M3 for the first time. If I had
any reservations about getting this car... it's all gone now... [wiggle]
Since was my very first time... I got kicked in the butt really hard by the SMG [whip]
trans... but what a feeling.. I cruised it hard in the back streets
of Riverside(CA).
I also was told that they are going to start they inventory on the '05 models..
maybe if I wait a month or two I could order a '05.

So far.. I've narrow down to Phoenix Yellow, SMG, 19"s, black interior,
navigation...

It made my day..

Cheers

Sweet, sounds fun. But you should get the standard transmission...[driving]
SMG kicks ass! I have been a die-hard Manual tranny guy for years, but I have never regretted getting the SMG. So many different modes to drive in with the "Drive Logic" controls of the SMG transmission, Traction Control, and DSC. You will not be disappointed if you go with it. I love mine. It is really good at speed....

To get rid of the hard kick the SMG can give you at times I suggest letting off the gas ever so slightly during shifts at lower speed. This eases the shifts just as if you are using a standard manual gearbox. Blipping the throttle during downshifts will also help keeping your head out of the dash during downshifting at times. Play with the sport button. Throttle response with the button on is unbelievable! All I can say the M3 is a monster.

I prefer 19's but without any technical reason other
than they look great.
So can you elaborate why stick with the 18's instead?
I didnt have a change to have two cars side by side to
notice the difference, so what's the real deal?
