okay so here's what happens: when i press the gas pedal down half way .. it feels like the engine is having trouble getting gas .. and the car would nearly stall .. feeling like its having trouble staying on .. i was told i have to replace the air flow meter .. so what exactly is it ? what does it do ? any ideas if that is actually the problem ? i had the fuel injectors cleaned out and the fuel pump replaced .. thanks for the help .

It still could be the AFM. It might have a dead spot in the middle of the circuit card. Try measuring the output of the AFM and see how smooth it is. It jumps when you first open the vane and when it goes to full throttle but it should be relatively smooth, increasing in resistance, between the extremes. I don't recollect which contacts it would be but you should be able to figure it out.
