Well, the carpeting in my 325es is all black and looks definitely original. Looks great when its clean, but it is hard to keep it looking that way IMO.

I have factory black carpets as well. My headliner is light gray, and I have a blackish gray check-pattern for the cloth on my seats. My seats are the Recaro-style sports seats. Maybe that makes a difference with having black carpet?

Oh, and mine is an 85 325e.

You might be able to find carpet kits for your car from Bavarian Autosport, www.bavauto.com. They're expensive to shop from, but they ship quickly.

Good luck!

My headliner is black and I have tan seats, but it looks REALLY good and I think a saw a sticker or paper somewhere for a relining company (or maybe it was for the tinting company) But it would be way easir to goto a craft store or maybe a carpet store and get a can of dye and dye your own.

black carpet

I just recovered my nutmeg (tan) seats with new leather and recarpetted with black. Tan really jumps out now. Carpet was $350 installed and well worth it. It is glued over the oem. With all the cutouts you need to make, pay the piper and get it done right.
