Does anyone else out there have a problem withthe concept of SPEED in their new Bimmers irregardless of make and model? It is almost scary how easy it is to drive FAST in my new 530i. I am scared that if and when I make it back over seas I am going to end up in jail and without a licence. A few days ago on my weekly LONG trip from middle germany to the south I figured that I would just cruise and enjoy the ride.......well I did just cruise.....at 120mph!!!!! I had no concept that I was moving that fast. Felt like 70-80 mph. What does a freakin speeding ticket in the states cost these days?

Depends on the state. In Idaho moving violations are $54.00, however when you exceed the speed limit by 20 mph they go to $105.00. Here in Washington state a speeding ticket is rarely under $100.00 and can go way up from there. I guess you will need to look at the speedometer more often....haha!

i hit 100 regularly passing people, but the speed limit
in NJ is 80. so its not too bad.
the real limit is 55 or 65 but everyone goes 75 or 80
Is the speed limit 80 in NJ???
I always thought 70 was the max anywhere in the US.

That's what's so awesome about the BMW's! You can take them for that nice spin.
But I have to admit, it's a lot more fun on our German Autobahns...in the states I got a ticket (in NC) for $ 100. Not too bad. But then my insurance fined me $ 3000.00. Ouch!
