Amount of zaino wax for your car

How many ounces are you guys using per coat? I have a e36 328i and can do an entire coat with a 1/2 bottle (1 oz). Just trying to get a feel for it that is too little or what.

Is anyone mixing any products with Zaino? I'm pretty happy with the shine and water beads, but stuff seems to stick to it. It is not as easy to wash as other waxes I've used.

I have used 1/4oz for two of my cars(sport cars)and had plenty left over for wheels.
With one ounce, you "should" be able to get at least 3 coats..., at least in my experience.

Use a syringe with a catheter tip and you will use less and will also know exactly how much you are using.

The first coat you will use about 2x more than the remaining coats...
After the applicator gets wet and the car gets slick from the first coat, you use less and less...

Wow, a 1/4 oz?? I need to work on that. I used about an oz each coat and also used two different applicators. I was affraid the wax would harden from the first coat before I got to the second coat.

I use the Ultimate Plush towels for removal.
You are using way too much unless you are waxing a motorhome
When you apply Zaino, you apply it like it costs $1,000 a bottle. That is the best way I can explain it

Ok with one ounce you should be able to get 2-3 coats on an average sized car. As Wane mentioned, the first will use twice as much as any following coats. So if you use 1/2 an ounce for the first then you should be able to get 2 more coats out of the remaning 1/2 ounce. A key thing to rember about zaino is to use as sparingly as possible, using any extra is just wasteful and complicates removal. Use as little as possible, just as Wane said emagine it is $1000 a bottle. I can get about 2 coats done with 1 oz on our MDX.

About removal I just use a clean 100% cotton towel. I rotate and switch sides on the towel often. You dont have to get everything off when you remove it, yes try to get most but hopefuly you will be using the Z7 spray after you remove the wax, which should aide in removig the rest. If you havent already got special towels just for waxing I highly suggest doing so. I suggest Fieldcrest Royal Velvet 100% cotton towels, the hand towel size works best. For waxing I have 2 hand towels and 1 of the griots garage 100% cotton rags to apply the wax.

Oh and for those newbies out there that dont understand what bottle we are talkign about, it is one of the small bottles that come with the ZFX. The 4 included bottles are all 2 oz each so when I speak about using 1oz, it means half the bottle.

Yes, Z-7 is a car wash, you want to use Z-6 between coats.

You do not want to "rub it in". You only want to layer it onto the finish, very lightly.
Zaino will cross-link and "bond" to the paint, so "rubbing" is not required

I will agree with the above post's, its easy to over-apply. You then find you are just wiping it right back off. No more than 1/2 bottle, I use 1/3 tops.

I think I use a lot with each coat. I use Zaino Z-2 and Zaino Z-5 (I alternate products per coat) and I mix it with the ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator. The Zaino ZFX gives you 4 of these 2-ounce bottles. For each coat, I fill up the 2-ounce bottle with 9 or 10 drops of ZFX, and when I'm done with each coat, I'm pretty much at the end of the bottle.
So in short, I use 2 ounces per coat...am I using too much??

Considering I use 1/4oz for 2 cars..., I would say yes, you are using WAY too much...,
don't worry, there is a "learning curve" to using Zaino..., be patient.
Have a contest with yourself to see how "little" you can apply..., that should be just right
