Stock exhaust is nice but also very tinny. I like the Eisenmann exhaust. I think the stock M3 sounds amazing as the driver on the inside, but as a pedestrian watching an M3 go by (or hearing it rev), it doesn't sound so great. Does anybody else feel this way as well?

I just don't see myself paying $1000 to $2000 for nothing but a better sounding exhaust. If there were some dyno tests that showed a gain in HP or torque, maybe I would. But not for sound alone.

Nah, the M3 sounds much crazier on the inside...really sounds amazing. It's just outside where the exhaust produces that tinny sound.
You watch the video's i posted? It sounds better on the inside than the video's of the M3's i've seen (IE top gear). But it's an opinion thing, and it's good i like the sound of my car [:)]

who are you guys trying to kid?....the sound from both the inside and the outside sounds tinny & like crap. the first test drive i went on...i nailed the throttle and at 3000 rpm heard this squawking goose sound combined with a tinny raspy rattle, and thought what tha ??? is this normal....yes it is, i was informed. if the sound of the stock exhaust wasn't so shitty....there would not be 10 posts devoted to the sound of aftermarket exhausts.

One thing that I have always noticed is how BMW manages to have the perfect balance of throughty-ness and subtly. The E46 sounds like its sick! BMW needs to get back to the drawing board on that. Nontheless its still an M3 and it still kicks ass!!
