I'm glad it was nice somewhere! We're in store for a blizzard starting Saturday afternoon and going all the way to Sunday morning. They're predicting 12 - 18 inches of snow. I guess the new Z3 will be spending quite a bit of time in the garage for the next week or so.

Hey, random question: Is suburbia in the states alot like in your photos with all the houses fronting the street so closely? That is really weird. Over her there is always some sort of front yard and then fence with the exception of the real innercity, but then it is apartments mostly. We have only one or two suburbs in one or two "CITIES" that are anything like that, but in those cases, the houses are also just about touching on either side too, but in the photo, the houses have relatively decent gaps between them, but still no front yard or front fence. No real privacy or plantings either :shudder:

P.S. Never liked the american pickup - the car industry's answer to the fuel crisis, and the subsequent tightening of belts regarding muscle cars - "I know, lets build great big pickups with the same big engines as the muscle cars, but we won't get penalised as they are for "commercial" use."

(Sorry, but I find it hard to believe the necessity of these vehicles when every single other country in the world gets by with much more economical - and often better performing and handling - pickups)

However, my scathing comments aside, I covet your roadster, so feel free to lord THAT over me.

Where I lived in Idaho my lot was 175 ft. X 200 ft. and very common or average for Idaho. It was a five bedroom brick house. What you see in the photo is a new tract home and there is 15 ft. between the homes. They are built so that the side windows do not face each other, if that make sense to you. My house is about 15 ft. from the street as most of my lot is in backyard. We are aslo fenced on three sides and I do have trees between my house.

As for the truck your looking at a 1/2 ton Chev with a 5.0 liter Vortec V8. It gets 17mpg city and about 21 hwy. Hardly a "muscle car" and as good gas mileage as some regular cars. I bought it mainly to pull my car trailer, a 22ft. enclosed one, hard to do with an "economical" pickup.

Thanks for the compliments on the roadster, it only gets up to 28 mpg hwy.

Yea I don't understand the fuel comment. The e34 M5 gets 9mpg in the city, and the e39 M5 gets 16 I believe. Not exactly fuel efficient for a sedan when honda's get 40mph, right? I see no point.

I don't like it when you see these women driving 2 kids around in a huge escalade or something, but if you're towing a trailer you NEED something to pull it. It's why we had our 95 chevy blazer with the 4.6l (??) V6.

epj your right, heck the 750iL I just sold only got 16 city and 21 hwy. And regarding homes, I think there are places in the US where people live right on top of each other, like in apartments and condos, and then there are ranches where your neighbor may be a mile or more away. I have a good friend in Idaho who lives on 50 acres, and I believe the smallest "lot" within 30 miles of him is 5 acres.

The Blazer had the 4.0L 190hp V6 engine for a long time....not much horsepower, but solid torque for towing shit around.

Big Daddy, did you take the M for a spin? 60 degree weather sounds like a nice top-down roadster day, and surely after waxing under the hood, you must have been tempted to go for a nice drive. [bmwdance]
