my 2004 545i (sport package) had two new front rims & RFT tires (Dunlop) replaced (free of charge under Wheels for Life package i purchased) around 22k miles. I've gathered from reading comments in this group and online that potholes contribute to the problem. Since potholes (including deep recessed pockets on manhole covers, raised asphalt ridges from weathering, bridge expansion joints, etc.) are inevitable around Baltimore-DC area (as most urban roads), is there a solution like different wheels, tires, suspension, or should I trade? I'm due for another 5k mile balance to keep Tire for Life warranty valid and suspect similar problems since i notice road noise, front-end bouncing when irregular surfaces are encountered, all symptoms from previous replacement. Not sure how many times the Tires for Life warranty will keep replacing tires and wheels either. My driving behavior is not abusive and i do my best to avoid bumps, but there must be a solution or a recall for such a problem from BMW?? Any ideas?
