BMW Cell Phone Wiring

I have a 2000 528i that's pre-wired for the BMW/Motorola cellphone. The phone was never very good and is now long since extinct.

Does anyone know if an aftermarket company has developed any kind of adapter kit which would allow me to use a more modern cellphone with the integrated hands-free feature built into the car? What irritates me is that BMW built a hands-free setup in the vehicle that is tied to a single proprietary phone designed over 3 years ago. They don't even offer next-generation proprietary phones that I can overpay for.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

That is a good question! I would like to know too!
I have the same BMW CPT8000 Phone hooked-up but the phone was missing when I bought the car used. I never liked the Motorola (Timeport?) design anyway and wondered if I could somehow incorporate a newer design phone into the system.

If it's possible, I bet it won't be cheap.
