what mods have you guys done? i've done everything i can think of. i have a lot of free time on my hands and not a lot of money. i'm getting new brakes soon, but that's the only project i have. help me come up with some more ideas!
my friend has a 300zx and the last project he did was a grounding job. its a good idea to ground your engine bay to the chasis for a stronger electric current. your headlights will be brighter and the response of throttle should be slightly better. there are many points on the engine where there could be better grounding. the cost is under 20 dollars. just some thicker gauge wires and connectors. ill try to find more info from my friend. im waiting for the summer to do this mod.
Yeah, the battery's in the trunk on my 89 325is, but i thought that it originally was in the engine bay and the previous owner had moved it there, did they really come with batterys in the trunk from the factory?

ya, they did do that factory on the 89. i'm not sure about 90-91, however. i also have no idea why they would put them in the back. the only thing i can see is that it leaves a really convinient platform for tools, etc under the hood, and allows for easy access for setting up a subwoofer.
it is in the trunk for the 91's as well. They put it in the back because temperature has a big effect on batteries. Constant heating and cooling of a battery from the engine will decrease its lifetime and performance. There's the whole weight allocation thing too but i think it's BS because it is not that much weight and you have to put in an extra think cable all the way to the trunk and that is heavy.
darnit! ok, back to mods, not batteries. seriously guys i'm bored out of my mind!!! look it's 215, i don't have school and i've done all the aimless driving i can handle for one day! help =(
ALL BMW's EVER made since the 2002 ATLEAST... have the battery in the trunk. No exceptions what so ever. It's a design they used becuase it helps with weight distribution (the battery has always been on the opposite 'corner' from the driver.)
that's not true. my neighbor has a 325 convertible 1988 and the battery isn't in the back. my friend has an e36 328i 1997 and his isn't in the back. another friend has an e28 528 and his isn't in the back. well those are the only bimmers that my friends have that i have looked under the hoods of. i just asked frolf though, and he said that his e36 is in the back....hmmm
