Did you replace the sensors? You have two or three sensors (not specifically familiar with the 5 series) on the brakes, front and rear. If any of the sensors contacted the rotor, which is what normally gives you the light, it needs to be replaced.
The "sensor" is a very simple device, it's really just a wire with an electrical contact. When the pads wear down, the sensor rubs the rotor, wearing away the plastic and completing an electrical circuit. If the face of the sensor shows any wear at all, it's best to replace it.
ok well i have looked at the front side sensors and they look ok......but i havent checked the back and i think thats where the problem might be....i will take a look at it when i get a chance.....thanks...
when I changed my front brakes, the sensor was only on the left rotor. It cost < $10 ... and when I was done, the light stayed on for a few days, then went off by it's self.
