I know this is stupid, but whenever I wax my car it attracts flies. Little ones. It seems to be the silver since I don't see this with our white and green vehicles. I apply the wax and have to flick them off when I buff. Then it gets really funny after I finish and the car is all shiny, they keep coming. I thought it might be the wax so I tried different brands. Meguiar's #26 attracted houseflies, Klasse attracts little black gnats, and P21S attracts these tiny little red flying things. After a day of collecting dust the flies go away. I guess they appreciate a detailed vehicle. [rolleyes]

Anyone else notice this or is my car just special?

Possibly the light. I do mine in daylight outside unless it is really sunny then I wax it in the garage. The bugs come inside or out.

Since your car is black I guess it has nothing to do with the color. We both live in hot climates so I guess we naturally have more bugs.

Since I have noticed variability of bug attraction with three different waxes (I know, I know, Klasse isn't a wax), I wonder what Zaino and Zymol will attract (Anybody have experience with these???) I doubt I will spend the additional bucks on these products just to see though. I get great results with Klasse and P21S. And the bugs seem to agree.

Obviously I have too much time on my hands today, but it seems like a worthy mission to find this out.
