So a couple months back I decided it was time to let the BMW go. The repairs were getting costly and I lacked th funds to pay for all of them. I finally got myself into the dream car I've wanted since I was a kid. A Saab. Though I'm sure I'll get a lot of critics I love the car.

I just miss the RWD of my E30. Driving the Saab is like learning a whole new car again. Anyway... just wanted to pop in and say that. Have a good day all...

Yeah i think it's a sad day for you mate but each to their own, of course. I suspect that you will come back to a BMW fairly soon...

From BMW to Saab seems like a very strange swap - i mean could two car companies be any more different!?[hihi] At least the Saab does without those shocking bumper-bars you guys in the US were forced to sport; truly a disgraceful disfugurement of a beautiful car.

Hope the Saab goes well...but not as well as your BM!

I got a 2000 9-5 SE. It comes with a 200hp Turbo V6 which is more than enough for me. I need to slow down anyway. Although 100+ in this car is extreamely smooth and quiet. I know owning a Saab is considered radical and odd, but heh. I've loved their cars for a while with their quirky designs and such. Like where the key goes. Anyway.. pictures.

Enjoy... [clap]

Very nice find. Sad to say that you had to get rid of your BMW. But you probably did the right thing and made a practical--very--decision. Enjoy learning you new toy. no more hole in your pocket.

Congrats! When your a Bimmer driver it almost always feels like your downgrading if you go with another manufacturer (at least for me). I just traded in my 97 528i for a 04 Jaguar X-Type. Saab's are great cars and that's a great looking car.

Nice car. Saab make some of the best turbos on the planet and are some of the safest vehicles around. I bet you are going to love the car. Just because you own a Saab now doesn't mean you have to leave this forum. Stay around and fill us in on how the car performs....

I have a great deal of respect for Saabs. I am planning on buying a used or CPO Saab 9-3 manual as my next car after I graduate from medical school. Saabs are definitely awesome cars. They drive great, handle great, have awesome engines, have tons of safety equipment standard (more than BMW and Volvo), and the "quirky" things about them appeal to me as well. Definitely more affordable than Bimmers as well. Congrats on the car - have fun with it! Go check out www.saabcentral.com They have some pretty active forums over there.

The 4 cylinder 9-5 could be had with a manual, but the V6 only came with an automatic, so he didn't have a choice. The 9-2x is a disgrace to Saab, IMO. It's just a rebadged WRX wagon with a different front fascia.

Yeah I love the 9-3 also. The new design too. My mom wants to get the new 9-3 after we finish paying off this car. But yeah, I've always wanted a 9000 Aero when I was younger and then when the 9-5 came out I wanted this one even more. Now I have one I still don't believe it. I'm 21 now, if I treat this car well, hopefully it'll be around when I'm 31. Heh...
