Good Luck!

The tires are to hard and too thin to be driven, the all-seasons that come with the car aren't good enough - you'll need winter tires.

I would not recommend it. Unless of course you don't mind banging up your wonderful car. Our bimmers stay in the garage when it snows and we drive a 4x4 pickup.

I drove my 1997 540i 6 speed for 2 Connecicut winters before buying snow tires. You can survive without snow tires but you will look foulish not being able to get up slight grades while everyone drives around you. The snows make all the difference. It is well worth the investment.

heheh i drove all winter in my 255 rear kumho 712's (which are not to be
used below 35*F) heheh obviously in the thick stuff i was walking, but
they cleared the roads pretty quick here so i was ok ... a bit slippy on
the side streets though.
