yes, "fan delete" (actually titled that for e36's that dont replace with electric) is a good mod for your car. Im sure you know what you do and do not get from it in respect to performance.
Ebay has lots of Zirgo 16" fans for under $100. There are multiple ways to wire them; ac switch, temp sensor, and variable speed.
Get one with highest cfm rate. Straight blades are noisy, S are quieter.
