I hope this question has not been asked before.

I am looking for a good OBD II scanner. I see some on eBay and Bavarian Autosports website. Bavarian Autosports web is selling the scanner that includes the reset.

My questions is:

Can any OBD II Scanner reset BMW Check Engine Soon light?

If 'yes', do you know the best OBD II Scanner that is not too expensive?

Thanks!

Peake seems good for BMW, but I won't work for my other cars (Mazda Mpv & Acura MDX).

Do you know if there is for OBD Code scanners with universal connectors?

Global OBDII Scanner is $135.95

I spoke to one of the support person of http://www.obd-2.com/.
He said that connectors are usually universal. The problem is the protocol the scanner uses. Some cars use different protocol.

OBD-2 product is $185 and does other wonderful things, but it requires computer.
I think if we have to pay that much, the tool should do more than reading the code, right?

Another similar product to yours is from ebay. It is only around $42.00.

I am tempted to get the one from eBay. What do you think?

It sounds good, I am just leary of eBay, do some research on the manufacturer and see what you find. I guess at $42.00 it won't be a big loss if it turns out to be junk.

Leary of an ebay seller with 586 positive feedback? Personally I'd trust them more than a local circuit city that I could actually walk in to. Why? I know 586 people (that's a lot) have had positive transactions with the seller. It's near impossible to fake that many feedback. If the guy rips you off, just contact paypal. If the seller doesn't respond, paypal will refund 100% of your money.

Sorry - nothing against you - I know you're saying be leary of ebay junk like that code reader probably is, not necessarily ebay as a whole. I just don't understand people when they say to not use ebay simply because they don't understand how it works.

Who says I do not know how it works, I have an eBay account with 129 positive feedbacks! I can return a defective product to Circut City and get 100% refunded, I know too many people that have been ripped off by ebay sellers, or at the very best had to pay to return the item. This month alone this seller has had two bad comments posted. All I was and still am saying it be leary!

100% refund only on certain items. Otherwise 15% restocking fee. I have never - and know nobody who has ever been ripped off and HASN'T gotten their money back. I wouldn't buy that obd2 reader anyways, since it looks like a piece of junk. But the fact it's on ebay wouldn't phase me. Great thing about ebay is buying expensive stuff cheap. If it's still being sold in retail stores, it won't be any cheaper on ebay anyways.

(Between my parents and I, we have about 300 feedback and I only had to leave negative feedback once, and I got my $10 back [:p] [:p])

Now you know someone who has been ripped off on eBay, me! I paid for an item and never got it, eBay did not give a rip and Pay Pal was no help. I Have never paid a re-stocking fee at Curcut City or any where else, ever!

If it is a piece of junk why do you argue about his "586 positive feedback", were the buyers too dumb to know they were buying junk? I looked and most of his sales is the code reader pictured. Seems counter to me...

I also have been reading http://www.digimoto.com/ website.
It is less expensive for the moByDic package ($170) includes all protocols (PWM, ISO, and VPW) and CAN. I am asking the support about the interface that comes with the package.

From its forum, no one seems upset/unhappy.

But, from resellers rating web-site, I found negative comments.
