Car dies when making left turns

#1
I've had this problem for the past week, and i've already spent enuf money having it towed n such. My car ('82 320i E21) will almost die to the point were its going really slow and then just die all together. And if i leave it for abit sometimes it will start and run perfectly, ne one know whats causing this? Is it electrical?

Never seen that one

It should be electrical if you get it to run with no changes.

You may want to carry a spare sparkplug to ground against the engine and see if there is spark.

I would then suggest, if nothing can be found, the changing of the fuel pump relay for a precautionary postive step. The large black relay in the picture.

Here is an ignition wiring diagram for a 1983 E21. Not to complicated.
If it was the ignition the tachometer should go dead.

Not that I really know what's going on with this car, I will describe a situation that I encountered.

The car was a Dodge truck (not really pertinent to the story). The symptom was engine hesitation/dying on left turns. I yanked on all the wires underdash and underhood to try to find a short. No help. I jacked up the left side of the truck to simulate the centrifugal force of a left turn and the symptom ocurred. Still, I couldn't find the cause. Turned out to be the coil. It was mounted on the fire wall. By loosening it and turning it left and right I was able to replicate the problem.

Not saying this is the problem here, but its easy enough to rule out.
