I buy CDs regardless so I think any discount is a good one. I do have a few burnt CDs but they never seem to sound like the original.

Honestly, I buy cd's no matter how much they cost, but you have to look at the kind of cd's i'm buying. Most of the bands and labels I buy from don't charge much at all for them. Like yesterday, I ordered a $10 cd, and that was the most I've paid for a cd in a while.

I have probably bought 3 CD's in the last year. I used to buy more, but I'm totally P'd at the entertainment industry for sueing everyone. I think a boycott is in order.

I'm with ya on that.[thumb] The music monopoly studios deserve what they are getting. Note that I am NOT saying P2P is OK - the law is still the law. What I mean is that they have ripped off consumers for years, screwed artists for years, and now finally they are getting taste of their own medicine. What goes around comes around.

If I buy a box of crackers that is bad, or a TV that blows up, I can usually return it for a full refund. But if I buy a CD and it sucks, I have no recourse at all.

They screw real creative artists on royalties, and then spend millions planning, manufacturing and marketing pop stars like Britney Spears ("A product of the Disney Corporation") who have no talent other than looks (yeh she's hot!) and an acceptable voice. Then when their lack of talent catches up with them, the record companies whine that they are not selling CDs and it has to be ALL due to piracy.

I hope that over the long haul a successful model can be developed that allows the artists to directly sell downloads to consumers, and obsolete the current monopoly held by Sony, Warner Brothers, Universal, BMG, etc. Also note that I am specifically talking about the music industry - the film industry is a totally different business. The studios ARE necessary to pull it all together for films, but not for music.

I actually bought a CD last night. First one in years. The last time I remember buying a CD, they were like $17.99 in price. That's freaking ridiculous! Now it was $13.99 and I bought it cuz my g/f really wanted the new No Doubt cd. $10 is cool tho. I'd prolly buy a few more cds cuz I like the little booklets that come with the CD and how the graphics are printed onto the CD itself. Not like how my bad handwriting is on my burned ones so they all look alike or how pasting a label makes the CD all heavy.

You can buy one of those cd-laber maker kits to make it more heavy [:I] .

Personally, I have an Mp3 changer in the car and an MP3 player with me when I want to.. so I never really bother with CDs.
