Central Locking

I'm not sure about a '98 but if you have a computerized key (like my '05), it could be "corrupted" in which case you would need to go to a dealer to have it re-programmed.
I have mine programmed to open only the driver's door with the first push on the key fob. A second push on the fob opens the passenger door. On mine, with the car locked via the remote, you cannot open the doors by the interior handles. This makes it more difficult (ha!) for someone to get into the car if you have the top down. Also, when the doors are locked and you are in the car, it takes a double pull to open the door with the interior handle. There is 7 years difference between the cars so yours may be completely different. In any event, if it still doesn't work, see a dealer. They may do a re-program gratis if you're nice. Have a nice day! [:D]
