Has anyone tried to change the headlight bulbs for their X3? I bought mine without the lighting package but I was wondering if the bulbs could be changed just like you would change the bulbs for a Toyota or Honda let's say. Are the bulbs in BMWs special or are they changeable like all other bulbs? Can you also do this for the driving lights (some call in the fog lights) of the X3?

Thanks everyone!!!!

Hey there. Assuming you did not opt for the Xenon Headlights, the bulbs are easily interchangeable. You should be able to access the bulbs through your engine bay. I cannot speak for the X3 specifically, but usually you just reach in and "unhook" this metal clip around the bulb and then you just pull it out. When you install the new bulbs, make sure you "rehooked" the metal clip properly and that the bulbs are firmly in place. Also, turn the headlights on against a wall to make sure they are angled properly. Sometimes the metal hook will hold the bulb pointed upwards or downwards too much. As for the fog lights, typically you access those from underneath the front bumper. You have to lie down under the car and look at it from behind/under the front bumper.

The headlights should be easy for you to change on your own but the fog lights may be a bit more difficult.
