I heard that the sales of new 7 series decreased from 34% to 20% and BMW would change the face design of the new 7 series. A face lift within a year?

Chris Bungle, you are a loser! [wave]

2004 7-series will get the face lift. The headlights are gonna be more like the new 5-seris and the trunk is gonna be redone for a smoother tail.

If the sluggish sales of the 7 series were due to only economy matters, why they change the face of 7 series within a year? Furthermore, how can you explain the increasing sales of Mercedes Benz's new S-series? MB's S-series and BMW's 7 series are the rivals in markets.

The economy is not too hot right now. There are a lot of factors for slowing 100K car sales. The face might not be one of them.

I'd like to see other cars' statistics before commenting on that.. i find it hard to believe.

Anyway, it could be other things about the car too. How about I drive. Customers have abundant problems using it. Don't forget that Bangle will be designing the new one, so if the problem's with the face, and BMW really agrees with that, the new car wouldn't be done by him again.

Retooling for the 7 series is probably an easier financial decision due to the faster ROI derived from the sales of a car that costs almost? 100K.

Good point. The 7 sales were fine until the change. BMW 7 sales go down, while others of the same price range go up. If that does not tell BMW the story nothing ever will. I am just glad MB had maintained somewhat of their own style rather than looking to Honda, Pontiac or whomever to copy.

Also, how do you explain, from the viewpoint of the economy, the stability of 7 sales throughout 2000, 2001, even into 2002 but the big drop with the new style? I also remember BMW Financail Services having one of it's worst years for repo's in I think it was 2000-2001, you would think that the 7 sales would have dropped with that economic downturn, more so than in 2003.

I have always thought (like many others) that if you push BMW's into a "Japanese" looking car, that people will prefer to spend less & just go Japanese when they buy ??

The 3 series and the Z4's still look like BMW's....Please leave them pretty !!

No wonder bond left bmw
The old 7 was a monster in a tuxedo, the new one is an overweight monster in a speedo. ( not something you want to look at for long)
