Clacking noise when in neutral at a light

When I release the clutch when I am sitting at a light or in my driveway, my transmission (or something) in my '87 325is is clacking and clunking away. But as soon as I get going it goes away. What does it sound like it might be? It's not real loud either, but you do hear it. Also which Getrag will fit the E30 325is?

Hmm,

Getrag lay shaft slap, all of mine have done it since new.

I have over a million miles now, on a combination, and it has never caused any issues.

Getrag 260 any with the correct sensor cutouts.
Most are a 260-5.

Getrag 265 this is the M3 gearbox so it is expensive.
