My climate control has been having an intermittant problem - usually when I use the air conditioner it works great...but sometimes, like 5 mintues ago (in the pouring down rain, so i couldn't open the windows) one side of the climate control will blast nice and cool/dry air conditioned air, and the other will blast the air from the furnaces of hell. This is even when putting the drivers side thermostat in the "emergency override" position.

Any clues? Today the drivers side was fine, and the passenger side was devil air. A few weeks ago it was vice versa. Also during winter the heater won't come out of the DRIVERS side at all, until I redline the car once or twice. Maybe a bad valve?

Not sure of the fix but I have a similar problem when left on FULL AUTO. No matter what, If it's 100 outside it'll blow cold air out the face and hot hell fire out the top and bottom, negating itself. I've had to use the "dash only" button with the auto setting to get cold air only.

I wonder if there is some temp regulator or like you said, valve control that makes this happen.???(my outside temp sensor has already been replaced for other reasons and works fine)

Seems as if 5er's are destined for the blazes of hell when it comes to creature comforts. Do your heated seats work fine? You can barely notice the heat on the low setting, and the high setting is cooking your ass!!

I dont have heated seats. Not too useful in FL..!! less stuff to break.
I'm so glad I have them though... some of the SUPER cold days in the winter I would be in the nice toasty car, get out to put gas in the car which freezes my butt off, and then get back in...seat warmers are a god send.
