I must have gotten water in my DME control unit. It rained very hard today, I went to go crank the car. The check engine light was blinking very rapidly. I put my scan tool on it. The tool gave me just about every code there was in the book. I cleared the codes and cranked the car agian. The check engine light came on again. The car started running very rough. It was only running on 4 cylinders, the exhaust note was off. So I limped her home, I cleared the code again. Then I left the hood up and let the DME dry out, cranked it up and every thing was as it should be. The car ran fine, I have heard of way to modify the DME control unit to better waterproof it. Does anyone have any suggestions so that this will not happen again? I have heard of this happening to other E36 models, but they were not as lucky as I was.[pray]
