Clutch

I bought the car not long ago however don't remember the clutch feeling the way it does.

The first 1/4 of pushing the clutch in disengages the clutch fully, leaving the other 3/4 (all the wat to the floor) doing nothing.
While going up hills it never feels like its slipping at all.

My question is, Is this normal for my five speed getrag transmition, or is my clutch heavily worn?

Also while pushing on the gas pedal though 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear (at low speeds) and then taking my foot off the gas pedal to change gear (disengaging the clutch and engaging the clutch) it makes a "clunk" noise, is this "clunk" noise because the springs in the clutch plate are rooted, or anything to do with my thrust bearing? it feels as though the clutch is sticking or something.

Sorry for the long post
Any help is much apricated.

i noticed that every time after an oil change & lube, my clutch is more responsive- ie requires less effort to shift. and, over time it gets rougher and requires more pressure to engage. it usually makes a light click noise when depressed- but definitely not a loud clunk.

i think that if u feel the gears grinding when u shift, then ur clutch might be going out. but, if it's just a bit rough, that's fairly normal for a car with some miles on it. clutch wear varies by driver, but for me it's usually 150k miles before i need a new clutch.

Gears dont feel as though they are crunching, just the clutch and read sub frame mounts (not to mention the inch play in the diff) contributing to my "clunk" noise.
Thanks for the reply
