Anyone else use another car as their daily "beater" and save their BMW for weekends and fun nights out? [cheers] I have an 98 Nissan p/u base truck that I run to work and erands.

I have too much fun driving my car to save it only for the week-ends. [driving2]
But it IS my daily driver so I really have no other choice anyways, lol.

Run it into the ground, that's what its for. Beat it to hell and leave it for dead with some other poor bastard. Your sig says "You only go around this rock one time, make the most of it." Practice what you preach!

To each his own but I like having my car as the daily driver. I love driving it and would hate to think, “if I was in my BMW…” when I could be IN my BMW. I understand about the desire for keeping the vehicle “like new”, but I would rather reap the rewards of my sacrifices rather than for someone else to benefit from them.

I do, but that does not include tearing up my BMW for work. I like pulling the cover off Saturday morning and heading down to Satrbucks where there are a few Harley's, Porsche, etc. We all review each other's mods and enjoy a cup of coffee. Then we might head into the hills for a brisk drive. Good times.

Come Monday, I fire up the Nissan and let it take the rock chips and sit in the sun 8-10 hrs a day.

Just my view... [whip]

Well, like ghost said, to each his own... BUT.. why not slap a clear bra on for the rock chips and take the time on weekends to protect your baby from the sun? IE, take a few hours to clay, polish, glaze & wax? Then just use spray-on detailers to maintain until the next wax only job (every 8-12 weeks). My 3er has a clear bra, no chips & smooth-as-glass finish all while taking a daily pounding.

You don't have to drive it everyday, but get the poor little guy out more!! It craves the road! Kinda reminds me of those new Focus TV ads that have the car begging the owner to be driven...

Even if I owned an M3, it would still serve as the beater!! Unless I pay more than 6-digits for a car, its gonna be my 'beater'!

If it's just running errands and I have a choice, I take my g/f's Camry. It's more cuz I'm worried about door dings and pot holes though. If it were all smooth roads and wide parking spaces with considerate drivers, I'd take it everywhere.
