Okay, so I started my car a few minutes ago, drove up my friend's street, turn on the heat, and smoke...everywhere. Coming out from the cracks of the climate controls. Any ideas folks? It scared the crap out of me.
I'm thinking it's the fuse for my subs (which I no longer have in my car) because I lost no functionality as far as buttons etc. go. Also, I was screwing around with one of the wires back there for one reason or another last week.
Yeah, you better dive in there and figure out what happened. Just because you didn't lose any functionality doesn't mean some wires didn't get toasted.
I had an electrical fire in the interior of my Camaro once. Anyone remember how years back cars used to have ammeters, not voltmeters? Well my Camaro had one and the way it was wired was that all of the current from the alternator ran through the gauge. Well, that wiring apparently overheated and the insulation caught fire. I had to disconnect the battery quick to cut the power to stop the fire. The interior smelled like crap for weeks!
