De-Chroming?

Hey on my e30, I have the chrome trim arround the doors and windows. I've seen e30's (on the internet) with just black trim. No chrome anywhere. I'm very interested in this look. Especialy since I'm getting it costom painted this spring. I need ideas. Shaved doors handles (maybe too ricy?)? I mostly wanna shave my chrome trim and just going with black,... can I just buy the black trim somewhere? I need some resources -Dan P.S. If you want me to post a picture of what I'm talkint about, just lemme know!

mine doesnt have any chrome trim around the doors and windows i think the pervious owner did it but i think there is a way to just take the trim out because on mine it looks like there is a space were the crome parts should be but they just arnt there

I need the trim arouns my doors cause its starting to rust bhind there... yeah when i get it repained i'm having that sanded and sealed... but i still need some kind of trim to hide the rust. can you post a pic of your car?
