Hello guys,

May be someone knows the trick... My 2007 550i has a Sport Package, and the bad thing about it: the ran-flats. Because of run-flat tires, it has got not a simple tire-rotation-speed control (like in my wife's 2006 530i), but the real Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) system. Which means having gauges attached to rims inside tires.

I am not a great fan of run-flats (negative ROI: higher price, bumpy ride, no use if the tire is damaged seriously). Also, the 5 series has a spare anyhow, and it's not a big deal...

The problem is as follows: I've ordered regular (non-run-flat) winter tires balanced on rims from Tire Rack and put them on. Everything is fine, except that the ... TPM is now continuously displaying error messages on each engine start-up, which is annoying.

And you can only RESET the system, i.e. pressure gauges inside tires are now a MUST-HAVE :-( There is no command to de-activate it when you are having neither run-flats (that I don't need at all), nor pressure gauges...

May be smb. knows the trick to deactivate the system to avoid all those messages showing and the icon glowing on the dashboard all the time?

Thanks in advance!

This is true, you can't deactivate it at all, but, there is a way around it. the only thing that you can do is mount the TPM sensors on the inside of your new wheels. Now, they do not fit on a lot of aftermarket wheels. If they do not fit, you have to drill a hole in the wheel and use the hole to mount the sensor inside, it is very difficult to seal the hole good, but, it can be done by any well respected wheel shops in your area.
