I recently came back from a 8 days trip and found my 2003 m3 to have a dead battery. First airport security tried to jump it, however there external jumper was not able to get more then jus the computer to start. I had to call BMW roadside assistance who sent someone with a stronger jumper and we got the car started. Would you guys agree that the battery should not drain that quickly normally? I have placed a call to my local dealer and am awaiting a response, but i have a feeling they are gonna say its just a fluke, but now i gotta worry about the car not starting evrytime i start it. Oh, and as far as i can recall and tell, i did not leave any lights on etc.

Any suggestions? thoughts? similar experiences?

Yes. You probably left a light of some kind on. One day I came back to my car and the battery was dead (airport, 7 days later)...I had knocked the switch on the roof on with a ski bag when I was taking the ski bag out of the car. Not to be outdone on the way home, after jumping the battery, the skibag cracked the windshield when it slid forward during a stop.
