I'm looking at getting a BMW convertible (1995-1998 timeframe.) My question is this, what's the main differences between say a 328 and a M3? Which would you recommend and why. What you be a good price to pay for one of these cars in very good-excellent condiction?

Thanks

A 328 is a 2.8 liter and an M3 is a 3.2 liter. Further the M3 has numerous other upgrades, like suspension, and cosmetic. The M versions are considered BMW's high performance cars. If money is not an issue I would get an M3. For that time period, depending on the model prices can range between $7500 to skys the limit.

IMO, the difference is performance. The M3 has more power and handles better. Expect to pay @ $20K for good - excellent condition with low miles.

Thanks epj3, I've been looking at autotrader.com and cars.com. Do you know of any other sites where I can be looking?
