Do BMW owners WASH CAR more than other car owners?

[wave] I just want to get an idea on how often do all you BMW owners wash your car and do you feel that you might NOT be doing it as much if it wasn't a bimmer but a Lexus, Honda, or a Toyota maybe.

I want a nice new shiney look from my car and tend to wash it once a week rain or shine. I feel that I might be over doing it as it seems like I am the ONLY car owner on my whole street block that does this so frequently. I guess I should not care about what my neighbors might think but I feel that they might think I am overly obsessed with keeping my car clean eventhough it does look somewhat clean already.

My neighbors around me also have pretty nice cars like a Lexus, Infiniti, Acura MDX, Hondas, but I am the only BMW owner on the block. I just don't see them fussing over their car as much as me.

So what do all you think? [paranoid]

I wash my car once per week. It's always the best to keep your car clean and make sure you use shampoo + conditioning and it's clear coat safe so it's won't strip away the wax.

It really depends on the owner and how much they "treasure" their car. In my family, the 93 oldsmobile cutlass ciera gets washed as often as the A4 and the 328i. Some people would rather take it to the car wash or use the free car wash coupons they get at the gas station. Time permitting, i try to wash my car once every couple weeks....but that's mostly due to the wheels being so dirty from the ridiculous amounts of brake dust bmw's have. Hey, IMO if u like washing it once a week, keep doing it...

It depends on how often she has been driven and the weather. The roadster gets washed only when needed as she is in the garage covered when not in use. The other three cars get washed when needed, usually about twice to three times a month. I never use a car wash.

I have always leased my vehicles and always maintained them very well. My last lease return was last month, a 2002 loaded Dodge Ram and the check in paperwork listed the condition as "perfect." I am also into a Ford Expedition 14 months and I would say in is in new condition.

I only use Zymol products on my BMW, $32.00 for wash, 12.00 for glass cleaner, leather conditioner, tire treat, wheel cleaner and finish, and Concours Estate Glaze at $133.00 for 8oz. My total Zymol bill was $410.00 for cleaning products for my leased BMW so I may tend to disagree entirely with the lease theory. But I must say than I only use standard grade products on my other cars and only use Zymol product on the BMW.

I wash my car (or have it washed during the cold-ass winters) at least once a week, and I do a nice rim cleaning every 4 days. When I wash my car myself, I only use Eagle One products, and the proper cleaning/drying products (micro-fiber towels, terry towels, proper wash mitts and scrub brushes, etc.). Aside from just normal car washing and tire treatment and glass cleaner, etc., I maintain my interior as well. I check my oil level, windshield washer level, and tire pressures once a month. I do everything on a very strict schedule. It's kind of weird because my car is leased, but whatever...it's important to me that my car is running good and running clean. It makes such a big difference when a car is dirty and when a car is shining like you just took it off the showroom. [:D]

"gotta do the tires & apply the wax..."

I picked-up an 8 oz tub of $69 Zymol wax.

You apply it by hand, believe it or not...

It contains mostly bees wax & canuba wax. [thumb]

Check-out the web-site... www.zymol.com It's supposed to be one of the best waxes
available... From Germany, I think

I'm waiting for my '04 330i to roll into my garage before I use it.

Other than the exterior, You have to treat the tires.

That makes all the difference in the world. [^]

There's nothing worse than seeing someone's new ride sitting next to you at a red light,
and their tires look like they just crossed the Vegas desert...[driving]

I try and keep my bimmer as clean as the day I bought it... So yes, I wash my car allot! I LOVE TO! The only thing better then spending the day in the sun polishing up your baby, is getting to drive it afterwards![headbang]

The first picture is of 10 micro-fiber towels, 18 terry towels, 3 small micro-fiber towels, 1 soft wash mitt, 2 wax applicator pads, and 1 short hard-bristle brush.
The second picture is of an assortment of Eagle One products (pretty much all of what Eagle One has to offer). As you can see, I do keep these products in my bedroom closet...[V]

Yeah, I just don't want anybody using my stuff...the Eagle One stuff is premium (most of those products you can't buy at a store, you have to order direct from Eagle One). Regular car wash stuff are in the garage for others to use as they please.
